HIERARCHY OF VERSES - Interrelated
Each verse in the Quran encompasses one another in different contexts.
✅ If we have difficulty understanding a verse, we can search for other verses that have encompassing hierarchy.
This is important so that we do not misunderstand verses out of context.
For example, in the case of reincarnation, which is not accepted by Islam.
Belief issues may vary, but when related to Islam and referring to the Quran, caution is needed to stay within context.
〰〰〰
There are verses that affirm we live and die repeatedly. Is this a sign of reincarnation?
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says:
"How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned."
(QS. Al-Baqarah 2: Ayah 28)
We must look at the core understanding of reincarnation. Don't understand it halfheartedly, lest it overlaps.
- Reincarnation is not just about coming back to life but living to perfect the quality of life.
📌 Fundamentally, this is the main understanding related to reincarnation.
- 1⃣ Coming Back to Life
- 2⃣ Perfecting Oneself
🔰 HERE WE NEED TO FIND VERSES THAT ENCOMPASS THIS HIERARCHY
This verse refutes the possibility of self-improvement (refuting point 2⃣)
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says:
"So when death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me back
(QS. Al-Mu'minun 23: Ayah 99)
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says:
"That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind." No! It is only a word he is saying; and behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected."
(QS. Al-Mu'minun 23: Ayah 100)
📌 Point 2⃣ ❌
🧩 Preliminary conclusion, "there is no reincarnation" because a core point is rejected
〰〰〰
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says:
"Indeed, We offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they declined to bear it and feared it; but man [undertook to] bear it. Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant."
(QS. Al-Ahzab 33: Ayah 72)
📌 There was a time before we were born when we lived to accept the trust.
✅ We do not know for sure the purpose behind the repeated life and death mentioned in the Quran, but it certainly does not aim to characterize reincarnation."
